Lying on a beach, taking the sun, drinking sangria...

Spanish vintage in its best! Here is one great colourful Sangria set, made of shiny aluminium, with which you can give your home a lovely touch of Spain.
This kind of sangria jugs and cups were very popular in Mediterranean coast of Spain in sixties and seventies.

Jug is designed to hold ice cubes and fruits to don´t pour out in the cups. Simple and practical.

40+ years left some traces but still they are still shiny and very attractive

Among these ones in our shop - Lunartics Vintage - you can find this one too, more classic but also lovely sangria jug

Vintage Style Halloween Decoration

...well, at least if we are talking about amazing and original wall decorations :)

No, we don´t have flying witches, lightning pumpkins, blood-red bulbs or fluffy bats hanging from the lamps with same blood-red bulbs...

All those things you can find in any commercial centre and all of them you can find in any house decorated for the Halloween night(s).
Now, don´t take us wrong, we have nothing against world-wide usual Halloween decorative items. At the end, we use them also! :)

Here we only want to show you how you can make your Halloween decoration in one a bit different way, with a classy touch of Vintage.
We are happy to say how in our shop we have a nice number of Vintage German school pull down charts, which today presents original and with all colours, contrasts and details, really outstanding wall decoration. Another amazing thing is that, although all of them are from mid ´60s till mid ´70s, almost all are in excellent condition!
Some of them can be perfect choice for the Halloween wall decoration.

Can a spider be beautiful and creepy in same time?
Can details of a normal cat show us how that "pet" can be... scary?
Can a horse be spooky?
Can a giant fly on a wall or small ocean creatures show us how ideas for aliens we don´t have to look out from Earth?
And what about good, old bat!? ;)

And just to ad for the end, these animals aren´t for Halloween decoration only, of course!
Depending on different cultures, many of them are symbols of good luck or...something like that ;)

Check here some of our Vintage "Halloween" wall charts and for more wall charts find a minute to jump in our shop.

Coffee Grinders - timeless charm

Nowadays, as a decoration in vintage or rustic style (well, it goes one with another) old coffee grinders are one of most favorited items. Metal ones, wooden ones, plastic ones,... smaller ones, bigger ones, table ones, wall mounted ones,... 30 years old, 130 years old,... French, Spanish, Turkish, German,... there are really many kind of them and all of them are in their own way really special.

Depending on condition, they can be quite pricey but still, the most popular ones, smaller table ones, are affordable.
Like restored ones which looks like new or in original and now a "rusty" condition, coffee (and spice) grinders are 100% "eye-catchers".

Here you can check our store where, among many other Vintage items, we have also a coffee grinders :)

Spark from the past - Vintage Telephone by Iskra

by Silvijo

Today Slovenian company from Kranj, Iskra, was one of the largest and most successful "electronic" companies in ex-Yugoslavia. The head of design department was Davorin Savnik, Slovenian who drew some of the most successful Yugoslavian Iskra-products (TVs, radios, power tools, small kitchen appliances,...).

The most successful of Savnik´s designs is a phone that was one of the most popular design objects used in offices and households of ex-Yugoslavia.
Story of this Iskra electronic telephone begun in 1979 when the first model from this series was presented (ETA 80). In the next years its revolutionary and elegant flat design won many Yugoslavian and international design awards, including the prestigious G-Mark of the Japanese Industrial Design Promotion Organisation (JIDPO) in 1984.
The design of the phone was so exceptional and respected that it was also included in the Permanent Design Collection of the Museum of Modern Arts (MOMA) in New York.

How years were passing in Kranj they didn´t touch the basic shape of their most popular phone. Just the rotary mechanism was replaced with more modern push-buttons. Today, original rotary-dial models are not easy to find so they are more valuable than later models with push-buttons, but no matter of rotary or push-button version, all models of these ETAs are truly a must-have phones for collectors!

At the end, modern, futuristic design was not the only great thing at this phone. Quality of materials (plastic) and quality of built was on highest place. This Spark (Iskra means Spark) was really a fantastic phone. And still is!

In the following years many phone companies copied the fantastic design of Davorin Savnik.

Eyeglasses are cool

by Silvijo

Eh ye... How much fun it must be when you are a kid, some 6-10 years old, and you hear that you will have to wear an eyeglasses!? Although it is completely normal thing, kid can think how it will make him...well, different from the others, different from the friends,... Maybe not, at the end it depends from kid to a kid.
In my case, and I´ve got those news when I was 7, it did effect me for a while.
The ugly truth is that in early school-age eyeglasses can "mark" you as a "four-eyes, blindy, blury, glassy,...", depending from which country you are, there are many, many nicknames for...us. Nothing serious, if you were not a touchy kid and if you didn´t care much what every-school-must-have-bullies had to say. Luckily, I´ve never had problems with that. Yes, I did break them....a lot, but some more serious problems never had.
The only bigger problem was at the beginning, that first period, first few weeks after I started to wear them. Believe me, it can be a sad time for a kid. Of course, for that period kid should to have all support of his family and maybe to show him/her how wearing a glasses is not such a big deal, how glasses can be cool, this kind of gift can help.
Please, be free to give your opinion and if you catch some time, check out our web-shop.
